Days of Ukrainian Cinema have started in Germany

Days of Ukrainian Cinema have opened today in the German city of Cologne, where a demonstration of more than ten movies of domestic production will take place. The program will be opened by the classic film of Sergei Paradjanov "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors," which will be presented by Ukrainian actress Larisa Kadochnikova. Such films as "Two in One" by Kira Muratova (2006), "Casting" Alexander Shapiro (2008), "Father Andrew" Oles Yanchuk (2008), "Sappho" Robert Krombi (2007), as well as a compilation of short Ukrainian films will be displayed on 20-24 of March at the House of Cinema in Cologne. During the festival the films "Little Life" by Alexander Zhovny (2008) and "Paradise Birds" by Roman Balayan (2008), will also be shown. After the demonstration the directors of these movies will meet with the audience. In addition, at March 22, scheduled the film "Alive" by Sergey Bukovsky, and a “round table” dedicated to the tragedy of Famine in Ukraine, which will be attended by representatives of the International Charitable Fund "Ukraine 3000", the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation, as well as journalists. The primary objective of Ukrainian Cinema Foundation is familiarization of foreign professionals and foreign film audience with classical and new Ukrainian film, as well as popularization of Ukrainian cinema.
